The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) is set to unveil a convenient online platform that will enable investors from anywhere in the world to register with ease. Gilead Teri, the Executive Director of TIC, announced on Monday that the final stages of preparation for the launch of the Tanzania electronic Investment Window (TeIW) were underway.
Once launched, prospective investors will have the ability to register online, apply for permits and licenses, and even receive certificates upon completing all necessary formalities. This streamlined system is expected to save time and resources for applicants, while enhancing the world-class services provided by TIC.
TIC has already implemented the Online Work Permits Applications and Issuance System (OWAS), which is integrated with the immigration and labor departments. As a result, investors can obtain work and residence permits within a matter of days after submitting the required documents. OWAS eliminates the need for verification by the National Examination Council of Tanzania, National Council for Technical Education, and the Tanzania Commission for Universities.
“TeIW will enable prospective investors to access services from the TRA, BRELA, NIDA, Land Department, and, of course, our own TIC services,” explained Mr. Teri. This means that applicants will no longer be required to visit the offices of the various departments involved, as they can conveniently access them through the TeIW platform.
While Mr. Teri did not provide an exact timeline for the operational launch of TeIW, he expressed confidence that the system would be ready for launch after successful trial runs this month.
